Beautiful Song With Simple Lyrics

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

Easy to Love You by Shayne Ward

Uncomplicated, you enjoy the simple things

Don’t need no make-up you just wear what nature brings

If you could see what I see you would know you’re beautiful

[Chorus]

You make it easy to love you every time you smile at me

And it’s so easy to love you girl you shine so naturally

I couldn’t even count them there’s so many ways

You make it easy to love you

[Verse 2]:

You can’t hide it, it’s there in everything you do

You don’t see it, and that’s just why I fell for you

If you could see what I see you would know you’re beautiful

Repeat [Chorus]

Qn: What are you looking for in this job?

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

Will your answer be this if an interviewer asks you this question?

“Work provides us with the means to pay our bills, support the family, basically to support the necessities of life. Of course, we sometimes pamper ourselves…” You most probably you would not land yourself that job if you had given this answer.

If work is as simple as that, then we would not have any qualms working in any kind of jobs, as long as the pay is ok. Right?

Wrong. To many of us, work is much more than that. Maybe it was in our parents’ generation, where they would work for donkey years on the same job with barely any increment. In our generation, all of us are talking about job satisfaction, career advancement and challenge in work.

a)         What industry is the government developing in these few years?

b)         What are the types of careers available in this industry?

c)         Does the culture of this company suit me?

d)         What are the career advancement opportunities in this company? Etc… and the definitive question that gives us all our problems:-

1)         Is there a ready market for my skills in the employment market if I leave this company?

Even before we join our potential employer, we are already planning our next move. Granted, the current generation of workforce is so mobile that nobody stays in the same job forever and gets presented a “Lifetime Achievement” Award anymore. Companies nowadays do not offer permanent contracts as well. The entire employment industry is constantly engaging in a massive “manhunt”.

I, myself am not spared from the definitive question as well. I am not satisfied with my current job scope. Yes, it does pay well. But, there is really no professional development for me in this current job scope. If only defining work is as simple as my first definition, I would not have decided to move on. Who would want to put themselves in the stressful process of going through many rounds of interviews and aptitude tests in order to get the perceived suitable job?

And I call it perceived because I would not be able to know if the job suits me until I get my hands dirty. So what now? Do we engage ourselves in a continuous job search? I don’t know. But I do think that one fine day, the simplest definition of work would creep upon us. It’s just that the time of arrival is different for each and every one of us.

Which way you want to view job as it, it’s up to you. I can’t decide for you. At least I have made the choice. Is it the right choice? We shall confirm later.

OK! Photo taken using my new Nokia 6300. For a 2 mega pixel camera phone with no flashlight and auto focus, the quaility of the photo is good.

Image003_1 Yup!!! I was toying with my new mobile last night. I was watching the MSU at the same time (Disappointing…). Managed to try the different modes of camera functions…. Here’s one with night mode and black and white effect. I am totally satisfied with the photo quality!!

Well, apart from the high photo quality, I am also enjoying the radio and music player function of my new phone. OK OK, cool it, I am a sua gu person. Hey!!! I only change my mobile phone like once in don’t know how many donkey years. Let me count, this is only my 4th phone since the year 2000. What do you think? Is that a lot or very little? You decide for me…

Why I chose to blog again…

Sunday, April 22nd, 2007

Alrighty!! This is my renewed attempt at blogging. Well, I had previously tried Xanga, which was introduced by my secondary school friends. Actually, I never really caught the the blogging bandwagon. The only reason why I joined Xanga was that I felt very left out when the entire group was talking about each other’s entry during one of our now rare gatherings and I was completely out of the loop.

Well, there is this saying "Sky Down No Banquet That Will Not End". Many of my friends faded away from Xanga and never to return again. I must admit that I was not an avid blogger on Xanga anyway. But, as each of my friends took turns to "unwind" their business in Xanga, I see no point in Blogging anmore.

But!!! Due to some coincidental occurrence, I found another reason to blog. It triggered a paradigm shift in my reason for blogging. I see blogging now as an eternal diary where I keep my life story (its not too late. I am 28 years old, I have got to start somewhere). Its going to be a time capsule for my life, one that could be revisited 20 years from now and relived.

So here I am. My first blog after some 2 years or more. Yeah!!! Hope I would keep up with the momentum. I will promise myself that.

Oh yes!!! My latest treat for myself. Nokia 6300!!!!

70x90_nokia_6300_staff_1  Oooooooooo!!! Slim and slick deign just tickled the material sense in me. How much I got it for? $138 after trade-in!!!! (More Ooooooooooooooos!!!!).

Off to enjoy my phone for now. Till the next time we meet again. Soon, I promise, it will be real soon…
